The Fernie Hunt

The Country is situated in leicestershire & Northamtonshire bounded in the North by zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz, South xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx West mmmmmmmmmmmmmmm and the East kkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk.

The hunt was originally part of the Quorn, but as this country was too large to hunt properly, Sir Richard Sutton allowed his son Richard to hunt the Billesdon portion separately from 1853. This arrangement continued under Mr Tailby with the agreement of the Quorn. Long masterships in the latter halves of both the 19th and 20th centuries have helped to produce stable conditions.

Field boundaries consist of timber post and rails and thorn hedges often protected by ditches. Hunt jumps have been put in wherever necessary to give access. Well spaced, thick coverts ensure good holding cover.
